Iris Lansdorp-Vogelaar
Iris Lansdorp-Vogelaar, PhD, is Professor of Decision Modeling in Screening at the Department of Public Health of Erasmus MC. Her research focuses on evaluation of screening of gastrointestinal cancer. Her work informed the 2008, 2016 and 2021 US Preventive Services Task Force recommendations, US Medicare reimbursement decisions on CTC and Stool DNA screening and the Dutch national colorectal cancer screening program. Her work has been published in several authorative medical journals. She chairs the Medical Interventions working group of the European Code Against Cancer, and the colorectal cancer working group of the International Cancer Screening Network. She is also a member of the European Commission Initiative on Colorectal Cancer. In 2021, she received a career development award for her research contributing to the successful implementation of risk-based cancer screening. Her current research further focuses on monitoring and evaluation of existing screening programs, cost-effectiveness of novel and innovative tests for cancer screening and explaining cancer disparities.
